On Game Day
If you signed up for a game or games in CGI - SIGN IN - so the we know you're at the field! If you didn't sign up previously - please see if there are open slots you can help fill in and sign in! Make sure you note which team you're earning points for!
Please avoid wearing sunglasses unless required for a medical condition - It hinders communication with your referee crew and can be intimidating when speaking to children
Required for all referees
You must be a fully trained and certified volunteer referee. If you can sign up for games in CGI, then you know you're good to go!
- Check in at the Tent 20-30 minutes prior to your game assignment. Needed for check-in, field check, pre-game, etc.
- Have on your referee shirt.
- If wearing a hat - then baseball type only and black - no advertising - no inappropriate logos - Region 39 can provide
- Equipment
- WRISTWATCH - not a phone, not a stopwatch on a lanyard.
- WHISTLE - not around your neck.
- COIN
- REFEREE WALLET with something to write on and something to write with
Additional Requirements
7U & 8U Referees
- Wear comfortable shoes for running - no open toes, no flip-flops.
10U and up - is it your first time doing 10U?
- Establish credibility. Look the part! Be properly attired as a referee - required to earn points
- Black referee shorts that were provided, Referee shirt - if badged - then badge on!, referee socks - pulled up
- Black or predominantly black shoes
WHEN FINISHED!
- COMPLETE the game card and turn it in to the Division Director.
- PLEASE note any negative sideline behavior on the game card - be specific about teams (team number not color) and participants.
- GET YOUR POINTS - Make sure all the referees note their names on the card and which team each of you are earning points for.
