The Referee Point System Explained
AYSO is a volunteer based organization and does not allow coaches, referees or board members to be paid. Each season AYSO Region 39 needs to fill approximately 2000 referee assignments in order to cover the games from the 6U through 18U divisions.
Each team is required to provide 2 trained and certified referees. Referees earning points for any team in the 10U, 12U and 14U division must be a parent, guardian or relative of the player on the team.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to referee games in the same division as your child if you don't have the proper certification. Example: your child plays 14U (requires an Advanced referee certification) but you have a regional certification - you can still earn points by refereeing a 10U game. (Recommended: Get more training and upgrade your certification!)
